Late Night Breakfast
Southwestern University traces its origins back to the mid-19th century when it was established by the Methodist Episcopal Church in 1840. At that time four institutions were created: McKenzie College, Rutersville College, Wesleyan College, and Soule University. These four colleges, all Methodist-affiliated, faced financial and logistical challenges throughout their early years. Eventually, recognizing the need for consolidation and a more sustainable approach, the Methodist Church decided to merge these institutions into a single university across 700 acres and 1350 students.
