The United States is high on the list of nations with weather related disasters. With 2005 Hurricane Katrina as primary catalyst a new article asserting best practice for protecting disaster management infrastructure was added to the National Electrical Code. Technical Committees meet later this month to respond to public comment on the First Draft of the 2026 Edition.
