Breads of Christmas: Panettone
As legend has it a young Milanese nobleman named Ughetto degli Atellani became smitten with a poor baker’s daughter named “Toni”. To win her over (and her father) the young man disguised himself as an apprentice baker and created a sweet bread, which has long since become known as “Panettone” a central feature in winter holidays.
