The original University of Michigan standards advocacy enterprise — what is now Standards Michigan — succeeded in writing clarifications in the 2017 National Electrical Code that aluminum feeder wiring was safe, practical and economical. Fast forward fifteen years and we find competition for branch circuit wiring for quantum data computing and electric vehicle charging stations restraining the ambitions of government policies.
