This title is the foundation of safety culture in the United States; incorporated by reference by enforcement agencies at all levels of government. It competes for hegemony in the fire safety domain with NFPA 1 Fire Code and the titles published by ISO Committee 92 and IEC Committee 79. Committees met again two weeks ago in Long Beach to evaluate public response to first drafts of the Group A tranche of titles. Administrative staff is now preparing ballots for local building code officials.
