Having witnessed the role of federal agencies in regulating air and water quality, stepping in to regulate energy conservation and chemical safety, we wonder — given the fierce competition among private standards developers to “own” the school security space — how long will it be before the federal government needs to step in to clear the market for the education industry (if the education industry, or individual states, cannot do it for itself)?
