Morrill Land-Grant Act

Partisans of Thomas Hobbes’ “Leviathan” have metastasized in education settlements; many in land-grant universities established by Abraham Lincoln in 1862. Today at 15:00 UTC we reflect upon the original inspiration for public higher education in the United States–to “settle” the American West and to groom succeeding generations of farmers and engineers often harassed by battalions of meeting-goers, administrative busybodies and muckety-mucks afflicted with climate psychosis.
