Morrill Land-Grant Act

Partisans of Thomas Hobbes’ “Leviathan” have metastasized in education settlements; many in universities established by Abraham Lincoln in 1862. Today we reflect upon the original inspiration for public higher learning in the United States–to “settle” the American West with succeeding generations of farmers and engineers harassed by battalions of Paper Belt meeting-goers, administrative busybodies and muckety-mucks.
