We track research that enlightens the #SmartCampus agenda. Robert Goodspeed at the University of Michigan traces the #SmartCity concept back to urban cybernetics literature of the 1970s. He argues that viewing urban problems as wicked problems allows for more fundamental solutions than urban cybernetics, but requires local innovation and stakeholder participation.
