A central element of educational settlements are the energy technologies that support its central mission.  Every elementary and secondary school has a boiler of some scale; college campuses have district energy plants that generate electricity for several, if not hundreds of buildings. Boilers provide warm water for cleaning and cooking. Public consultation on changes to the 2023 Edition of BPVC regarding construction of power boilers closes February 7th.
