The International Electrical Testing Association was founded in Portage Michigan in to create uniform standards for testing electrical power systems. Originally a coalition of independent testing companies, NETA developed rigorous procedures to ensure safety, reliability, and performance of almost all elements of electrical power chains. Today at the usual hour we examine its catalog of standards; almost all of which appear in electrical construction contracts.

The University of Michigan has supported the voice of the United States education facility industry since 1993 -- the second longest tenure of any voice in the United States. That voice has survived several organizational changes but remains intact and will continue its Safer-Simpler-Lower Cost-Longer Lasting advocacy on Code Panel 1 in the 2029 Edition. Public Input will be received until April 9, 2026.
We examine the proposals for the 2028 National Electrical Safety Code; including our own. Public comment on proposed changes will be received until March 24th. The 2026 National Electrical Code which has recently been released for public use (public input on the 2029 revision will be received until April 9, 2026). Tomorrow we prepare proposals for Technical Committee CMP-1.
Our proposal to permit a performance-based building premise wiring design option were heard at the Committee Action Hearings in Orlando in early May. A second hearing on this and other proposals took place in Cleveland, October 22-30; administrative staff now compiling the results. Comments on those results will be received until January 6th.
