14-101 ISO TC 268 US TAG DRAFT Data Exchange Recommendations

July 2017 Update:

o   DIS 37157 (Aug. 2) Smart Transportation for Compact Cities

§  Recommendation: Abstain (Consensus from the rest of the TC does not appear to be present, at least without more technical underpinning)

o   NWIP 35159 (Aug. 25) Rapid Transit in/between Large City Zones and Surrounding Areas

§  Recommendation: Abstain.  This might have utility in a “green zone” setting, but regional transportation planning seems like it would be too complex to approach in this manner

o   DIS 37106 (Aug. 10) Guide to Establishing Smart Cities and Communities

§  Recommendation: Approve.  We have abstained on other votes because we did not seem to have much on an interest but I do not see any reason to not approve this document.

o   DIS 37120 (Aug. 10) Revision of City Indicators

§  Recommendation: Approve with comments . . . . STILL TO MANY INDICATORS.

o   NWIP 37160 (Sep. 11) Thermal Energy Quality Standard

§   Recommendation: Disapprove or abstain . . . seems to be outside the scope of the TC

o   CD 37105 (Sept. 19) Descriptive Framework for Cities and Communities

§  Recommendation: Approve.  U.S. launched project.
