- Alma College – A private liberal arts college located in Alma, Michigan, offering undergraduate programs in various fields.
- Albion College – Founded in 1835 by Methodist settlers in Spring Arbor Township
- Spring Arbor College – Founded in 1873 by leaders of the Free Methodist Church
- Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU) – Located in University Center, SVSU offers undergraduate and graduate programs in a variety of disciplines.
- Michigan State University (MSU) – Michigan’s first land grant university.
