This system includes multiple campuses, with the University of Maine in Orono being the largest.  Other campuses include the University of Southern Maine (located in Portland and Gorham), the University of Maine at Augusta, the University of Maine at Farmington, the University of Maine at Fort Kent, and the University of Maine at Presque Isle.

Husson University:

Located in Bangor, Husson University is a private institution with a significant student population.

Saint Joseph’s College of Maine:

Saint Joseph’s College is a private Catholic college located in Standish, Maine.

Bates College:

A private liberal arts college located in Lewiston, Bates College is known for its rigorous academic programs.

Colby College:

Colby College, located in Waterville, is another private liberal arts college.

Gould Academy:

Noteworthy historic buildings on the campuses of educational settlements in Maine:

Bowdoin College (Brunswick, Maine):

Massachusetts Hall: Built in 1802, it’s one of the oldest academic buildings in the state.
Hubbard Hall: Constructed in 1904, it’s an iconic building on campus.
Bates College (Lewiston, Maine):

Hathorn Hall: Built in 1857, this historic building is a prominent feature on campus.
Colby College (Waterville, Maine):

Miller Library: This library was built in 1939 and serves as a central hub for students.
