Elinor Ostrom began her career at the University of California Los Angeles but moved it to the University of Indiana where her ideas about "polycentrism" were welcomed. She shared with 2009 Nobel Prize in Economics with Oliver Williamson for her analysis of economic governance, especially the commons.
