$21 Million Swimming & Diving Complex
The University maintains four swimming pools. The Aquatic Center features a 50-meter Olympic pool with diving platforms and an outdoor 25yd x 25m pool equipped with heating and cooling systems for year-round pool temperature comfort.

Safe and sustainable management of them depend on electrotechnologies governed by the National Electrical Code, now open for public consultation until August 24, 2024.

The catalog that informs the safety and sustainability of these "cities-within-cities" changes 100 to 1000 times per day. By design titles are unstable, time-sensitive and copyright protected. 2028 National Electrical Safety Code
This title sets the standard of care for construction, operation and maintenance of power and telecommunication infrastructure on the supply side of the point of common coupling. It is the first title to reach for when disasters happen; with most public utilities bound to its best practice assertions by statute. Proposals for changes to appear in 2028 Edition will be received until 15 May 2024.
Electrical Resource Adequacy
Link to the April 25th Open Meeting. Previous discussions linked here center on supply, transmission and distribution reliability. Our interest lies in closing a technical gap that exists upstream from the building service point and downstream from the utility supply point. Some, not all of it, can be accomplished with titles in the IEEE catalog. Given the strength of vertical incumbents in the electric power domain, it is time to expand reliability concepts into the ASHRAE, NFPA and ICC catalogs

Workspace for drafting a detailed response to this 2018 statement. Open public consultation on the 2028 revision to the IEEE National Electrical Safety Code is very compressed -- only 90 days are open for a standard that is revised every 5 years. That's wrong -- and we told them so -- but we will roll with it and do the best we can to key in as many proposals before the May 15th deadline.
