High Altitude Cinnamon Rolls & Cowboy Coffee
The European explorer credited with discovering and writing about what is now Wyoming is John Colter, a member of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. After the expedition, Colter ventured independently into the region around 1807-1808, becoming one of the first non-Indigenous people to explore the area. He provided accounts of Wyoming's stunning landscapes, including geothermal features in what is now Yellowstone National Park. Colter's descriptions of geysers and hot springs were so extraordinary that some contemporaries dismissed them as fiction, referring to the area as "Colter's Hell."
