Green Bean Casserole

The classic Michigan-style green bean casserole, a Thanksgiving staple since the 1950s, was actually invented by Campbell’s Soup test kitchen in New Jersey — but it caught on everywhere, especially the Midwest. It combines tender cut green beans, creamy Campbell’s Cream of Mushroom soup, a splash of soy sauce, black pepper, and is crowned with a generous layer of crispy French’s fried onions.
