Abstract: With todays increasing technologies, people also are using robots in different sectors of human life to make life easier. Meanwhile, in the care of patients, robots are used in the medicare system. A nursing robot has the ability to carry out basic nursing care functions as expected by the patients like that a human nurse. But in our country patients do not get proper nursing care, accordingly, older people are suffered a lot. They always forget to take their medicine at the proper time. So, in this paper, it is our main concern about patients or older people to remind taking medicine in time and to provide pure drinking water at any time when the patients desired. We made a framework that is a line follower robot works with IR sensor and Arduino UNO microcontroller. RF receiver receives signals from respective patients. A real-time clock (RTC) is used to supply medicine in due time. IR sensor and Ultrasonic sensor sense the presence of water glass and the level of drinking water.

We track — but do not advocate user interests — in the American Dental Association standards catalog.   There are hundreds of dental schools worldwide but we have placed best practice discovery in this domain as a middle to lower priority.   Pandemic shock on dental education and the community clinical delivery enterprises may change that but the ADA bibliography is quite solid. There are other economic spaces where education community costs are too high.

That much said, the domain of dentistry, like most other economic spaces, is being transformed by informatics and artificial intelligence.  That is reflected on its standards setting landing page:

“Dental standards ensure that everyone is on the same page—those who design and manufacture dental products and the dentists who use them. Through comprehensive analysis, the ADA establishes baseline standards and technical recommendations for almost every tool of modern dentistry, from radiographic systems to sealants to manual toothbrushes.”

Note that the ADA, like all ANSI-accredited standards setting organizations, also seeks volunteer experts for its standards setting committees.

ADA standards committees seek volunteers for new projects

The ADA is the ISO/TC 106 US Technical Advisory Group Administrator for ANSI.

The ADA hosts its annual SmileCON meeting in Las Vegas October 11-13.  Annual meetings usually include standards development committee meetings where decisions are made about moving the ADA bibliography along.    Dental Informatics will be a focus topic.

College of Applied Medical Science, Shaqra University, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Abstract: World wide Web or the internet is gaining more challenges and has been one of the most exciting major events in the second half of the 20th century and has brought negative impact that cannot be ignored. Aim of this study is to develop solutions to deal with negative impacts of using internet among nursing students in a government university. Design, descriptive methodological design (cross-sectional) to achieve the study objectives. Setting, sample of 185 undergraduate male and female nursing students from three campuses of applied medical sciences college of Shaqra university. Results, 75.7% of students ages ranged from 20–25, health impacts came at the first level of negative impacts of using internet and got arithmetic mean (32.74), and no statistically significant correlation between student’s personal characteristics regarding the negative impacts of using the internet.

The global dental industry market is relatively small in relation to that for health care in general, but it is a lucrative and highly competitive market. The global dental market is estimated for the 2017 – 2018 financial year to be worldwide US$31.5 billion. For 2021, the scale of the global dental market is predicted to be around US$37 billion and growing with the population.  We keep pace with action in dentistry best practice literature because many higher education institutions have significant dental health education enterprises.  The physical assets that support them are relatively complex; usually involving research, instruction and clinical delivery.

Home Page for US TAG for ISO/TC 106 Dentistry

The U.S. TAG is comprised of eight Sub-TAGs which are responsible for a particular broad category of standards. They are:

  • Sub-TAG 1: Orthodontic & Restorative Materials
  • Sub-TAG 2: Prosthodontic Materials
  • Sub-TAG 3: Dental Terminology
  • Sub-TAG 4: Dental Instruments
  • Sub-TAG 6: Dental Equipment
  • Sub-TAG 7: Oral Care Products
  • Sub-TAG 8: Dental Implants
  • Sub-TAG 9: Dental CAD/CAM Systems

Like nearly every US TAG, the ADA welcomes experts — particularly experts from the Consumer (User) point of view.  The next US TAG Meeting will be held July 19-21, 2021 in Boston.  Contact Kathy Medic at medick@ada.org for details.

The next annual ISO/TC 106 meeting will be held August 29 – September 3, 2021 in the U.S. at the Loews Coronado Bay Resort in San Diego, CA.  More than 350 delegates comprised of dental product manufacturers, dentists, researchers, educators, government/regulatory agencies, and professional dental associations from over 30 member countries attend this important yearly meeting. More information will be posted as it becomes available. Members of the U.S. TAG are encouraged to attend.  To find out more information, please contact Kathy.

We break down action in dentistry standards several times a year.   See our CALENDAR for the next online meeting; open to everyone.
