Engineering Discovery Building

The new Autry C. Stephen Building building sits at a transition between UT's traditional campus architecture — limestone, burnt-orange brick and terra-cotta — and the newer engineering precinct, where metal and glass predominate. CO Architects therefore made the façade from five principal materials: limestone, brick, terra-cotta, metal and glass. The fenestration isn't treated as a separate glass skin; it participates in the horizontal datums and proportions of the masonry façades.
