OPINION: Academia is a "company town"; heavily unionized through proxy instruments such as tenure, heavily dependent upon government funding (for its buildings, for high-culture access, healthcare and sport) and therefore must play an essential role in the support of the Administrative State by adopting its organizing principles such as "catastrophilia" (love of catastrophe). Montesquieu, Orwell, Huxley and Kafka warned us: It is virtually impossible to convince climate change dependents otherwise. The money, jobs and status of being a citizen of the Administrative State, and its historical solipsism, are too persuasive. "Ignore facts from partisans of limited government. Climate Change is an Existential Threat to Humanity. We need the money. Fall in line with our orthodoxy and solutions if you want to live here."
